The Director

Ken

This is the second play Ken has directed for The Luvvies after last year's 'Fugue In A Nursery'; the second part of the Torch Song Trilogy. In recent years, Ken has also directed: 'Three Little Maids In Sherwood Forest' by Ken Nicholson with Creative SpAce, 'The Dumb Waiter' by Harold Pinter with KDN Productions, 'Hamlet' by William Shakespeare with KDN Productions and 'The Birthday Party' by Harold Pinter with The Drum Players. He has also directed various short films including 'Light and Dark', 'How Hard Could It Be' and 'On The Way'.

Painted Eggs is the first new play by another writer that he has directed and he has found the experience "invigorating" and "enlightening". The balance between helping the writer Nicole Dolder to finish the performance draft of the play and directing the play involved careful negotiation. Ken has "really enjoyed" working with the cast and hopes to work with them again on future projects.

Ken has also been acting for many years and performed in The Luvvies first production "Taste of Heaven and Hell" along with other plays and films. Ken is currently involved with many new projects including producing and directing a musical for an off-Fringe performance in August called "F*** You!", he is in contact with theatres and producers regarding "The Twelfth Club" a musical co-written with David Townhill (www.thetwelfthclub.com) and is planning an album for their band "Tinderbox".
